Haematology & Immuno-Haematology
Immuno-Haematology is normally known as blood banking, which is a branch of haematology. It researched antigen-antibody reactions and also its corresponding occurrence as they relate to the clinical symptom and pathogenesis of blood disorders. At Trulife Diagnostics, we provide an extensive range of following Immuno-Haematology services.
ABO & Rh Typing
This test is for determining the blood group of an individual to find out what is his/ her blood group, whether he /she is included in blood group A, B, AB, or O, and whether that person is Rh-positive or Rh-negative.
Antibody screen
At Trulife Diagnostics, an Antibody screen is for identifying the presence of unanticipated antibodies, particularly alloantibodies present in the serum to antigens of the presence of the non-ABO blood group: Kell, Duffy, P, Kidd, MNS, and some Rh types that are called clinically significant.
Crossmatch whole blood (Routine)
The routine test of Crossmatch whole blood is a process performed before a blood transfusion to decide whether the whole blood of the donor is compatible or incompatible with the blood of the patient. In this test, our haematologists test the serum of the patient with donor cells and then find out whether the patient has an antibody or not which may decrease the cell survival of donor cells or create a haemolytic transfusion reaction.
Crossmatched Packed cell (Routine)
The routine check-up of cross-matched packed cells is a process performed before a blood transfusion to decide whether the blood donor packed is well-matched or not with the patient’s blood. In this test, the patient’s serum is tested with donor cells to find out whether the patient develops an antibody which may decrease cell survival of donor cells or cause a hemolytic transfusion reaction.
Crossmatch whole blood (Urgent)
The urgent testing of crossmatch whole blood is performed before the administration of blood or blood products like packed red blood cells. The reason behind the crossmatch is to find out the antibodies’ presence in the patient’s body against the red blood cells of the donor.
Crossmatched Packed cell (Urgent)
In an emergency situation, this test is done. At Trulife Diagnostics, our experts follow this crossmatched packed cell testing which is a process performed early to a blood transfusion to find out whether the packed blood of the patient is well-matched with the blood samples of the donor or not.
